Pentecost

Pentecost takes place during a Jewish pilgrimage festival when people from many regions were present in Jerusalem. Language, diaspora networks, public preaching, and shared Scripture all shape the scene.

Acts presents Pentecost as the empowering of the church for witness and as a sign that God’s promise is reaching people across languages and nations. The Spirit forms a community devoted to teaching, fellowship, prayer, and shared life.
