Historical context
Relocating the ark connected the new capital with Israel’s worship and gave Jerusalem a sacred as well as political center. Processions, musicians, sacrifice, and public celebration were familiar ways for ancient kings and communities to mark major religious occasions.
Biblical significance
The ark’s arrival joins Davidic kingship to covenant worship while keeping God’s presence distinct from royal control. Jerusalem becomes the city where the king, the sanctuary, and the story of Israel converge.
