Be Still Before God
Stillness can interrupt the belief that everything depends on your effort.
Psalm 46:10–11The psalm places stillness inside a world that feels unstable. Its invitation is not to ignore trouble, but to remember who remains present within it.
A brief pause can help us notice how much energy goes into controlling what is outside our reach. We can return to the work that is actually ours.
Set aside a quiet minute. Notice your breath, name what you cannot control, and ask for wisdom about what you can do next.
What might become clearer if you paused before trying to fix the situation?
“God of refuge, quiet my striving and help me trust your presence.”
